Hall of Neptune – St. Anne

The sculpture of St. Anne was the original centre of the richly-decorated main altar in a church of the same name in the Old Town under Kralický Sněžník. The work is by the sculptor Michael Kössler, who came from Swabia in today's Germany. He worked mainly in Silesia and in the north of Moravia. Sculptures were created in his workshop in the first half of the 18th century and were based on the late Gothic carving tradition. His work has an expression of authenticity, which on the sculpture of St. Anne is enhanced by the original coloration.
